So on my last visit to the yard to pick up some window regulators for my Trooper camping project, I had the great idea to use the battery from my 18 volt drill to power the windows down to the service position to unbolt the glass. Unfortunately, my wires touch (don't use your cell phone while trying to be slick) and fried my new lithium ion in a heart beat.

So, my question is, what is your favorite way to power accessories you want to work at the yard?

I took my jump box into the local pick n pull once to check a starter. You could try a small motorcycle battery. Anything that will deliver 12v for short bursts. Don't need a lot of amperage to just check function.

I have something like this around the house for a project.

Works great for all kinds of 12 volt needs and it's small enough to chuck in your toolbox.
