So it may be impossible, but are there any non slick low profile tires for a 13x8 rim? I've got a car that I'm using for HPDE and autocross just for fun. I'd rather not deal with slicks and tire swapping when I'm just learning.
I'm pretty clueless when it comes to rims and tires unfortunately.
Any ideas?
Toyo Proxey R888s? I found then in 185/60R13?
I think this may be the toughest question in the world of tires. Until somebody asks for the same thing with whitewalls.
federal tire has a 595 in 205/600/r13 that the legends guys use.
I have a set, but haven't driven on them yet.

The federal's are cheap, but am I going to regret not having something stickier?
Other options are x2-x3 price wise, which I don't mind, but how long will they last?

I am about to try Federals on the Scirocco. I am hoping they get in before the autocross this weekend.

What car are you putting them on? While part of me longs for stickier tires for my Triumph GT6, another part of me knows the chassis wasn't really designed for the added stresses those tires would create.

And the Federals that I was looking at are the FD1, not the 595. I can't find those for sale online for 13" rims. Anyone have any leads/prices for those?

I would not put a 185 on an 8" rim. A 205 would be 'ok' on an 8" rim. It will work fine but maybe not look right.
Other thought could you swap to a 14 or 15" wheel? 4x100s are everywhere and you could probably get some for the price you could sell the 13s.

Roger that. Does anyone know where I can get the 205/60R13 Federal 595? I've called some local tire shops that carry federal tires and the 595, but no one seems to be able to special order the 13" one. They seem like a really good choice if I can find them...
Nice car... let us know how the tires work out...

Yeah, I'm trying to get this done for a track day this tuesday + I really like the 13" rims on it, but definitely a possibility. I've been keeping an eye on craigslist.

I guess Legends car suppliers carry them...
i run the 595 on my duster. i like them. would love something stickier like my last set of g-force ta's, or the r-comps. but for a street tire, theyve got plenty of stick and hold up suprisingly well to a ~500hp, 3600lb mopar.....

They only make them available for local pickup on that site. Unfortunately I'm located in the Northwest.
Check around and see if there are any Legends car suppliers in your area or that will ship.
check the legends suppliers in your area. I talked to several since even the instate suppliers are 6 -12 hours drive away. Both offered to ship them, I think shipping was $10 a tire.

I've had them in 225-45-13 ... they did the job very well (on 13x8's)

This^. They're $155 each from TireRack, and a 225 will be perfect on an 8" rim.
