Stumbled upon this on CL, seemed like your average rat rod until I saw the engine picture.

the ad said: 1950 Chevy fleetline with a Perkins 4-154 diesel with a turbo. It only runs about 4 psi boost. The car has a t5 5 speed transmission and gets better than 40 mpg. This is a rat rod, its a RUSTY !! old car with a great drive train, runs drives and stops as it should floor pans are solid . Will trade any questions text will not reply to email. trades must run and drive and be as dependable as mine

Is this thing cool or what? Not only do you get a cool old car, you get a super economical diesel, WITH three pedals!

What is this engine out of? I would drive the dickens out of this thing! I would have posted it in the classifieds but it's above $2013.

Someone buy this!!

One of the forklifts at work has that same engine. I never would have thought somebody would see some performance potential in that heavy little piece of E36 M3. That is a cool little project though

back in the day i remember seeing a perkins diesel in a 49-52 chevy in a magazine. can't remember which though.

i agree it's not a $4xxx car. it could be built for half that at most.
