Like the title says, does anyone make these? It sure seems NOT. The closest thing I could find was Kumho Ecsta 4X K22. Am I Scrooged or am I missing something?

My 2002 Mazda Protge5. Every site I see says thats what I need. I tried a few other sizes close but still nothing.
I keep bragging about the Winterforces on my wifes Caravan, Im really looking for these but Ill look into other options of course.
For the Protge5 Tirerack lists 4 different winter tires in 195/55/15 which would fit your wheels. But the speedo would be off by 3.4% (indicated 60mph = actual 62mph).
You could also get 195/50/16's or 205/50/16's but they would have an even larger speedo error.

That's taller and wider. Not exactly what you want for a snow tire.
Not to mention another dieing tire size...
Kenny_McCormic wrote: Blizzaks come in 185/55-16, near equal height and narrow tires dig through snow better.
That's what I'd run.

Not much difference, really.... and a 205 is hardly wide.
i like the 185/55-16 idea if it's easily found, though.

Those would be worse than the 195/55/15's
195/55/15 = 3.4% error - 60 indicated = 62 actual
185/55/16 = 5.9% error - 60 indicated = 63.5 actual
I looked at Bridgestone and Michelin and neither one list any tire for the Protge5. 195/50/15 must be a real unpopular size!
Yeah. They don't exist anymore, in any style of tire. I had a car here with 3 good ones, one junk...nobody home.
ebonyandivory wrote: This is close P205/55R16 in a Winterforce.
Nope, even worse on speedo error
195/55/15 = 3.4% error - 60 indicated = 62 actual
205/55/16 = 9.7% error - 60 indicated = 65.8 actual
I use the Miatanet Tire Calculator to check tire sizes. Works very well
In reply to Hal:
Keep in mind I'm used to going up several inches in tire size on my 4x4's and the speedometer error is not an issue with me.
I found 4 215/55r16s. Too tall to fit I wonder? They're like new for $100.00.

OP said his wheels were 16" so the speedo with 185/55/16 would only be 1.8% slower than the 195/50/16 (Car would be doing 60.8 mph when speedo is at 60mph).
In reply to ebonyandivory:
With 215/55/16, your speedo will be 6.9% too slow (Car would be doing 64.1 mph when speedo is at 60mph) and the tire will be about 1.6" bigger in diameter.
I used the Miata.net calculator as well.
I've been using the miata.net calculator for over 10 years. Someone needs to make that thing into a phone app.
Ther is a plethora of tires sizes that are close to the same diameter, so speedometer error should not be a problem.
Really? People actually care about speedometer variance of single digits? I don't think that I have ever owned a vehicle with an accurate speedometer, even with oem tires.
The closest that I've ever had to accurate was my old sprinter van. It always and consistantly read 2 mph above the speed reading on my gps. All other vehicles that I've tested aganst the gps had errors of 4 to 5 mph, or were inconsistent.
Sorry for the thread jack. Find whatever tire someone keeps in stock that has a close OD to the oem size and isn't to wide for the rims. 205s aren't exactly steam rollers.
