What are these cars worth? Seem everything is there. Repainted. not sure how long ago. use to be a very light baby blue. On the outside its a darker blue with the doorjams still in the original color. 289/4speed manual.

Contact Mike Mooney at MikeMooney@MikeMooney.com. He's the authority on these cars, and owns the Griffith name. Tell him Jim Vogel sent you his way. He's a great guy and he'll not only help you with the value, but if you give him the VIN, he can likely tell you all about the car. They aren't cheap, BTW, and there are fakes out there, so proceed carefully.

Rode in car number 48 in '86 or '87. Still remember that ride,

I did have one. They are great on paper, but have a very short wheelbase. Scary handling. Hayes Harris of Wire Wheel Sports Cars is also an expert. Oddly, I showed him around his first Griffith, some twenty years ago. That is how we met. You need to watch out for rust in the frame, as the body is bonded on and it is a real P.I.A. to fix.

Griffiths start at around $20,000-25,000 and can double or even triple, if perfect, which is too much to pay. Drive a nice Sunbeam Tiger before you buy a Griffith and if you are big guy, you won't be able to get in and out of one.

I'm a big guy and I can get in and out, but you are right, it ain't easy!

You are right about the starting price. These cars don't have enough room for decent rubber under the rear if you start hopping up the engine, so the short wheelbase combined with limited traction and their proclivity for snapping the outer stub axle and losing a rear wheel make them....exciting to drive.
