Notice the ad says it "starts right up and runs great."
Never mentions actually driving.
All the wheel chocks and tow straps in an auto say something is either completely destroyed in the trans or the driveshaft is out AND the parking brake is nonfunctional.
I mean, no parking brake from the late sixties works today, but the trans thing is a problem.
In reply to ultraclyde :
Those photos alone were enough to tell me I wanted no part of it. Acceptable for a $2k car, maybe, but not one pushing 10 large.

Close to me, could go shoot some undercarriage shots for you, that is literally 2 or 3 blocks from my daughter's house, maybe 10 minutes for me.

Regardless of what the OP says, that would be great. I know a bunch of us nosy people would like to see that. Certainly I would.

Unless there are two cars that look just like that close by, I happened to see that car driving around this evening. R side is shiny as the L, motor sounds very good. I was behind him on a sort of curvy stretch of road, then he turned R at a signal, it looked solid .
Toebra, you’ve been given your assignment.
I'd definitely be interested in having you look at it if you have the time. Sounds like I might not be the only one interested!
I texted the dude last sunday- I like to do that before I cold call of there is no CL email address) and he was pretty standoffish- asked me if I was trying to help him sell the car. I said no, I'm looking for a cool Sunday drive family car. Convo over. I let it go and just figured I'd give it some time and call.
