1968 Imperial question

It has come to my attention that, on your 1968 Imperial coupe or convertible, you could order a "doorway entrance enlarger."

To quote one of my son's friends, What in the entire Hello is that?

If anybody knows, you guys know.

My guess is a tilt away wheel.  The back of my head tickles with some memory of it.

Bottom right of page 6 of the factory brochure:

It's for 2 door models, and it's a powered front passenger seat tilt and recline that the back seat occupant can engage.

It slides the seat forward when you tilt the seat back to get in or out of the rear seat.

Javelin and RWGBY win. Thank you. Works with "a nudge on the passenger seat back," eh? I wonder if it could tell if the seat was occupied. (Not that Imperial owners would give birth to malicious nudging children.)

I must say, this explanation is much better than what was going through my mind, which was something along the lines of what happens when you back out of your garage and forget your door is open.

Those people went as far as to remove the front seat, drag it into their lodge, but then strangely decided to sit on the stone around the hearth instead.  What a weird time it must have been.

See the last words on page 6.  There was optional Director Seating...swivel front passenger seat to I guess face backwards and a table for occupants???
