Unrestored? It was 13 years old then.
And? People were restoring cars that "new". Heck, I remember reading articles about restoring musclecars in the early 80s Car Crafts.
I remember this, too.
My Dad bought an AMC Rebel new in 1969, and junked it in 1973. He then bought a '74 Dodge Colt new, and junked it in 1978, but it had only 37k miles on it at the time. Granted, these may not be two of the best cars made in that era, but brand new cars often had significant rust after 2 years in the rust belt.

I know that I have an issue of *Mustang Monthly* from 1982 that has a feature on the Grande. I'll dig it out and see what we can learn.
How the hell do you remember that?
Back when I was a freshman in high school, access to porn was very limited.
And that helps you remember now why? Seriously, I can't remember yesterday.
Although I do still remember the jet sizes in the carb on the Formula 400 I had more than 30 years ago.

If I can figure out how to work my scanner, I'll do my best. I may have to look for the software. I won't be able to get to it until tomorrow. I'll also take another peek through the archives, as I think I remember a more detailed article a couple of years later.
Once upon a time, I knew *a lot* of E36 M3 about Mustangs...
Scanner is not working, though I don't think a high res scan of a thirty year old magazine is going to be much better that the photos on the first page of this thread.
No luck finding the special "Grande" edition of the magazine. It may have existed only in my head.
On a semi related note, does anyone want a bunch of issues of Mustang Monthly from 1986 and 1987? Yours for the cost of shipping.
I need to start getting rid of some of this crap...
