I wonder if these two go together so I will ask some questions.
What color is your Miata?
How many miles?
What portion of the car would you like to upgrade first?
For starters... www.miata.net will cover everything you want so far. But when the bug bites and you need more
www.miataturbo.net
www.949racing.com
www.v8roadsters.com
Miata.net will also yell at you for deviating from their norms, so take some opinions with a grain of salt.
They're not websites, but they'll answer your questions a lot more quickly than wading through random forum posts.
How To Build a High Performance Mazda Miata will help walk you through the decision process on what to upgrade in order to get the result you're looking for.
Mazda Miata Performance Projects tells you how to actually perform those upgrades and maintain the car.
You can also give us a call at Flyin' Miata - 970 464 5600.
Also look for local Miata clubs. We have a very active group locally, East TN, and ideas, parts, suggestions" and help flow freely among participants.

These are great resources. Sure, you can probably find most of this information on the web...after digging through thousands of other bs posts. The performance projects one is really good in walking you through every step. Even a dummy could do it. You can pick them up on Amazon for pretty cheap! I'm sure FM sells them too, since Keith wrote them.
Oh and having a big book with good pictures and description is infinitely easier to follow than reading through some dude's forum post on your phone. Trust me.
