When I was in high school in the 90s I just took for granted that sports cars were affordable and everywhere and would always be with us.

I didn't start watching Best Motoring and Hot Version bootlegs until the early 2000s, but from time to time the BM YouTube channel posts a golden oldie like this one on open top sports cars from 1992:
