I've got a 1993 Nissan hardbody 2wd 4cy 5spd with 165000 miles. It's been a great truck util recently when it started to run really rough. The shop said it was a bad injector and replaced one of them.
It continued to run rough and get worse. I pulled the injectors and replaced them with 4 new (amazon) ones. it turns out that the newly replacement was the wrong injector type since this truck is a California truck and has different injectors than the 49state trucks.
it idle's rough and smells like gas at idle (no leaks at the injectors), when I get up to speed in 4th gear it smooths out and feels ok. I get backfires on decel
Anyone had a similar issue with a nissan truck? Ideas of what the check next? I haven't pulled the codes since I have to pull the passenger seat
