My car got crashed. Driver is ok. They are going to be hurting tomorrow. . Air bags deployed and I have not seen the car yet. I was told 15 mph head on in to a telephone poll.
A side annoyance to this is the accident was 200 feet from my driveway but the car was towed to a yard 15 miles away to the next town.
Anyway I am going to go look at it tomorrow and I have to decide if it is fixable or not and a big part of that is if it runs and the trans is ok.
So I need to know if there is an inertia switch if it won’t start.
Yes the car is old but it only has about 90 k on it and it has had virtually every suspension part and brake part hose and belt replaced in the last two years. Hell I put a brand new battery in it Sunday. It is my backup car because I drive a truck with 330k miles that could blow up at any time.
Oh and if it does knowing where it is would also help.

Not to my knowledge. I did enough bad E36 M3 in the ones I've owned that it would have triggered.
Tks for getting back. Car is toast. Motor mount broke off the head taking the timing belt with it. I could see in to the #1 cylinder. Took a good hot and of the motor was not broken it was fixable for sure. But I let it go. Got decent money for it.

Interesting, I'm tempted to intentionally weaken my "starboard" side motor mount to prevent this from ever happening.

Safer just to avoid telephone poles.
^I used to think the same thing, then least year I was taught that sometimes the phone poles come to you (the phone pole may be in the form of a CR-V).
