What years were the different front suspension types?

I have a 2007 3.0/5spd/2wd/4.10 regular cab, regular bed Ranger Sport, basically they haven't changed the underpinnings or engine/trans since 1996, just updated the sheet metal and interrior bits (if you can call them any better). It's not as nice as foreign trucks, it's not as powerful as foreign trucks, it's not as big as foreign trucks, it's also not overpriced like foreign trucks. I've towed our XR4 on a dolley just fine including hill starts, no problems. It can haul alot for it's size, it's not fast or 'sporty' despite it's namesake, and as many have said, beat on it and it gets 20mpg, normal back and forth to work half city/half highway 20 mpg, if i baby it on the highway and don't go over 70 mph I can steal 22-24mpg. The best part of the Ranger is the price of them used and availability of parts. I got mine one year used for a steal compared to other compacts on the market. I really have no complaints for it's utility, asthetics or comfort, it's a swiss army knife, not a leather sofa...

Our first tow vehicle was a 3.0 2WD, auto, with an extended cab. Since my trailer is only 700lb, and the car is 2400lb, the truck really didn't have any serious problems towing. We dragged her down to the TN and FL for two events.

Was a good truck.
