Does anyone still make a limited slip diff for my '87 crx? I've got a phantom-slip in the car now and anything over 10-15psi of boost over powers it. If the answer is no, does anybody out there have one sitting around collecting dust they might want to sell?
Contact King Motorsports. Maybe Mugen made one and they can still get ahold of it.
I think a company called OPM either used to or still makes them, a google search doesnt show anything though.
Mugen did indeed make one for 3rd-gen Civic's/Crx's. They were hard to find in the late 80's and quite pricey. King Motorsports has been the official Mugen distributor forever, so that's a good place to start a search.
Another possibility is to frequent the Street Prepared/Prepared?Modified/Production/GT-Class/Improved Touring sections on SCCAForums.com and make some inquiries. Maybe someone is parting-out a car, or has a used one for sale.
IIRC, the Mugen units were a clutch-type and may be rebuildable. Components may be hard to find and costly, though.
Does Quaife have a model available? If so, it's likely not any more expensive than a Mugen. I believe a Quaife would be as useful as a Mugen.
In reply to Travis_K:I contacted OPM and they're strictly spec miata now (gotta go were the money is) but they suggested a place called KingRat motorsports. Is this the same as King motorsports that gamby suggested?
In reply to oldsaw: I looked at the King site and the only thing I saw that was even close was for the Integra (1986-1989) ZC Cable Trans. Now I know this engine/trans combo was a direct bolt in swap for the 1st gen civic/crx but does the trans share any common parts with mine?

Nope. KingRat is a different business. King Motorsports has been the most reputable dealer of Mugen stuff since the dawn of time.

I had to check out the KingMotorsport's site, too!
It's been twenty years since I bought my LSD from them, but I believe there were separate applications for 3rd-gen Civics/Crxs and 1st-gen Intergras. The first Integras were based on the Civic sedan platform, but the engine/transaxle combos were not the same.
If the Integra unit can be used, it will likely require some modification to make it work. My LSD was car-specific and even then it required some minor case mods to have it install properly. I'd highly recommend contacting King directly as they will definitely have the answers.
