That's a good idea. A 78 Chevy G body looks lite enough. I should probably make it a 2 seater with a perimeter frame because what fun is there if you can't scare the heck out of your passenger? Ala IMCA Circle Track Modifieds. 
Edit: Because I started this as a joke and I still think it's a great idea, I just opened the $2000 challenge rule book. One of the main reasons I never want to start a topic is because I then have to do a bunch of research to argue my side of a subject.
I even own a 14' Lund aluminum fishing boat sitting upside down in my tree row for the last 20+ years that I paid $150 for 30 years ago. I could finish out the longer rear bodywork like the Porsche 917 long tail. Do I have to adjust the cost for inflation?

No adjusting needed but if you don't have a receipt for it you'd need a FMV for it. Pretty easy to do and I'd agree with the $150.

Well, it appears that they use a dedicated isolated cooling system with 8 individual expansion pipes.
