I owned both a duratec Taurus and a V6 Mazda 6 and I found the packaging on the 6 to be easier to work on even though the Taurus is on paper the larger car and the 6 has VVT and the Taurus doesn't.

It would be hard to do it WORSE than an old dohc 3.0 Taurus, but then again there ARE a lot of Northstar cadillacs that are nearly worthless for similar reasons even though they run and drive..
Glad to hear OP is getting what he wants.
FWIW, I love G35s. Had one, recommended one earlier in this thread, and just put a deposit on another one today! 2003 coupe, 6MT, all stock, 167,000 kms. Couldn't pass it up for the price. Pretty sure I could flip it and make a couple large. Won't be getting it home until next week some time. Seller is working out of town.
Waiting for pics and feedback on your new G35. That's the one I would have picked from those choices too BTW.

Between the MZ6 and the G35 it would definitely be the G for me, but a much tighter race when the MS3 comes into play because you can have both fast fun with good MPG and practicality all In 1 package.Psshh, my buddy's ms3 is broke down with turbo problems and a #3 misfire that's looking like a rebuild, he rapes it, but is not tracked. EVERYTHING for that car is expensive. And nothing transfers over from the regular 3. That being said- the G will be the same way. When did parts get expensive for cars? My Celica has me living in the 80's...
Tbh your buddy seems to be a bit of a bro-douche, in saying that that was a bit of the reason I ended up letting my old MS3 go but with at least 20+ autocrosses and 4 HPDE events on it with DD the most I every worried about was keeping tires on it lol.
Now the trolling is over with the Mazda, unfortunately everything for modern vehicles is expensive, kinda why I wish I kept my old rabbit, and congratulations to OP, post pics when you get it!
Thanks again for the help everyone; you all provided great suggestions, and I took them to heart. Got a good deal on the 2003 G35, sport package and everything (with only 40,000 miles!) Only bad part is that the front tires are continental dws (good tire) and the back tires are some HiFly crap. Everything else checks out though.
Really fun to drive overall, and once I get used to the clutch it will be a blast

Clutch feel is a sore spot on these. High/narrow takeup point. Check these out.
Adjustable Fulcrum Clutch pedal doo-dad
Drove a 350z with one of these. Totally transformed the car. It's the first mod I'll be doing to my G35 when I pick it up on Friday.

Thanks for the link. Do people report premature clutch wear as a result, though? The clutch engagement is a bit rough- I'm having trouble clutching back out between lower gear shifts
