Not mine, yada yada. Seen on Bringatrailer and linked to the original ad.
1957 Vovlvo wagon with drivetrain from an awd turbo DSM. good golly, yes, please. I WISH I lived close enough to be on this.
The front looks a little different. Maybe since it is lowered (edit - apparently the body was widened to fit over top of the Talon unibody chassis).

Holy crap.
The vintage Volvo lover half of me wants to lynch the guy who built this.
The GRM/hot rodder half wants to build a statue to him...
This car makes my head explode..
What makes my head explode is how the next "logical" step is to get this thing in the over 300awhp range.
Well I didn't know I needed that so badly.
I think I need that car in my life!
If that's what he does with his volvo, what's that Synchro got in it?!
If it was within 100 miles of where I live, it'd probably be in my garage right now.
My apologies to Volvo restorers, but this one was really far gone when I hauled it home, so getting it back on the road as a hot rod seemed like a fun option.
It has been, after the heartbreak of bad batches of bondo. Woulda been just as much fun as a rat rod and a hell of a lot cheaper! That said, we have driven this thing all over the states without missing a beat. Winding back roads are a blast, and interstates are a breeze.
Time for someone else to have some fun with it, I'm putting a Prius drivetrain in my '64 VW bus. BTW, the Syncro has a 3.0L Nissan VG-30 V6 in it with 216,000 miles. Haul ANYTHING and be the last vehicle moving in a snowstorm.
I may be nuts, but I USE my rigs.
Vanamaxagon welcome!!!!! I hope you stay around. You sir are very close to reaching the status of automotive god with those creations. I think you will find that many (if not all) around here share both your taste in "hot rods" and your belief that they should be used on a regular basis.
If you were not so far away I would be calling you about eh Volvo. It would make the prefect NE vehicle. My best friends father had one for years. I have great memories riding around in one of those as a kid.
^Agreed, you'll find alot of like minded people around here.
An old Volvo with a new AWD Volvo drivetrain and a weird van thing with a Nissan VG30 in it? Congratulations, one post and you're already GRM royalty.
