Sorry to hear it guys.

Sorry to hear it guys.
In reply to unevolved:
6 people? College students? 1 entire month?............and you are giving up? Haven't you guys ever crammed? Get together and drink lots and give it some serious thought as to whether you can do it. I say yes.
I promise. We don't even have the money to pay registration fees. And trust me, I've been losing sleep over our progress for far too long. We hit the "dig in our heels and let's get this bitch done" phase about a month ago.
Sounds like you guys are being pretty wise in your approach. Sorry to hear you won't be there this year, but look forward to seeing what you've got coming!

I'm with SV on this. You've clearly thought this through... hate that you won't make it this year, but it sounds like you've ensured that future students at Texas A&M will get to run the Challenge. Kudos to you for making a thoughtful and selfless decision!
Thanks guys. I'll continue to keep y'all posted on the car. Besides, this way, I'll get to drive it more.

Andrew,
I'm working on a Boston to PA shuttle for you now. One of the guys I work with is in the Boston area now and is willing to bring 'em back.
Miatame, get me some contact info and I'll get you guys in touch.

Unevolved,
In the interest of full disclosure our $2010 project isn't going to make it this year either. We made the no-go decision late last week. We've made good progress on it over the last couple months, but it's nowhere near ready. We're regrouping for $2011. Our team isn't a college program, just a car club.

Minissan won't be there so you should have said that Uranus will be behind you... Maybe in line. I hope you don't cry like the last California girl that came all the way over to get spanked.
Wow, if the teams keep dropping, Wheels has a good shot at the top ten this year! That is if he gets tires. Please get him the tires!!!! There are few competitors that have tried so hard over the years with such minimal overall success. He is due...
sux to hear the A&M team cant make it, but I cant either, so who am I to point fingers?
looking forward to more updates though!!!

There is only a 50-50 chance. 11th place - 3 of 6 trips might be a good indicator.
Reality is we are going to have a tough time making it to the show this year. We are in the same shape this year as last year. Start it and load will be our only option. Unfortunately, this one is looking like it was rushed.

Crap, you guys can't miss it, you're my best material... It actually looks more rushed than the last couple? Wow! Seriously, don't miss it.

You really are desparate.

Read my mind Dawg!

It's either you or tow vehicles and Miata's, at least you build something questionable and creative.
Can someone please tell the sad clown that he got beat by a stock engined BMW. You also got beat by a Miata but that's not my car.

I'm writing this from Paris so give me your email and I'll get you my info. You'll have to meet my teammate since I'm not home.

Sounds like the clown wants us to bring something different this year
We took the HK-R Mustang to our first test autocross on Sunday (8-29). It came in 3rd overall out of 72 cars. We were happy.
Danny Shields was our test driver (He took 1st place in a modified Cayman S), so his driving was a big part of the quick runs. He made a 2 or 3 suggestings that we took care of today. The Nitrous kit goes in later this week.
We plan to go to one more autocross the Sunday before the "Big Show". Once again asking Danny to be our test pilot.
Oh, I rode as a passenger in the HK-R Mustang on 3 of the test runs. 150 hp V-6, No ABS, and a back end that squirrels were calling squirrel-ly. I'm keeping my Boxster. :)

Andrew called me earlier and got me your phone number. I'll PM you in a minute. Since it's 3:00 AM where you are I'll talk to you later...

Like anyone can tell Uranus from your mouth, clown...except maybe the Hong Norr, I hear they're into that kind of thing.
I'll be laughing til I cry when I make Uranus and your mouth meet.

And still I bet it will be among the best engineered and cleanly presented entries. Y'all do great work under pressure.
I'm still working on keeping the coolant inside the engine; sadly there probably isn't enough jb weld in the entire world to keep up with all the cracks I keep finding...
Do not count me out, however, because I have a line on a dirt cheap replacement radiator and there is plenty of time left. Of course, my to do list is getting longer instead of shorter...
This week's lesson: Whenever someone other then yourself touches anything under the hood, TRIPLE CHECK to make sure everything is correct

I do not really have room in the car to carry anything down south, but I am free to help with logistics and storage of items if need be until then. Just want to make sure you all know that I am around if help is needed...
You'll need to log in to post.
