I'll be there with my filthy Scirocco if I can complete the entry form. I'm stuck trying to come up with a team name.
I used to work with a guy who was in a decent little garage/punk band. They never had a name until they entered a local battle of the bands contest and the promoter was filling out the contestant list. When he asked for the band name they said they were "a band with no name" thinking that would be mind shreddingly fresh and insightful. The promoter called them "blank line" since the space on the contestant application for name was a blank line...clever huh. So when they won, their name was officially blank line...I think its time for Team Blankline Automotive, and you have to race with Decendants, Minor Threat or Vandals blaring from the cassette deck ...just my .02
I will be filling out an entry soon for the skateshop I work at [the boss runs dirt track cars, his daughter/my best friend runs a BMW road race car, I build and maintain the cars/have my own projects too]
The car I have is a 1984 Ford Thunderbird with a 5.0, plans include a T5 [scored at half off weekend at the junkyards, got everything I need] as well as a turbo setup.
Still debating the rest....
But it should be a fun project!

My anniversary with the fiance is Oct. 8th. I'm supposed to get married on that date next year. I went on my anniversary last year, it was cool with her! I kinda have to be there for the wedding though.
My theory is that if they don't get it you probably shouldn't be marrying them...so that's good she gets it! :)
BTW I didn't know you were engaged, congrats!

Thanks. I will see what I can do for you but I think it might be a budget issue? Since I get my models for free can I bring a couple dozen to assist in the concours?
Seriously, though, I NEVER had a thing for these Swede's but owning this car has changed my mind

Thanks dude! I was actually talking to her over the weekend about the whole situation, and she even considered getting married AT the Challenge!!!!
Then, we went over the logistics of shipping our families and friends down here and the fact that she's going to be teaching at the time, and it's not gonna work. At some point, she wants to help me field an entry though.

There is a gazebo by the pool.
I have been thinking about getting one o' them there 'Ordained Minister' certificates online.
Just sayin.
You only need a notary to make the wedding official in FL. Its a few hour test online for a few hundred $.
I hear they have a Bridal Suite at the host hotel. I also heard that it's been booked on Challenge weekend for the next couple of years.
For the rest of us mortals, there's at least a good room rate for Challenge participants. (Spectators count too, as long as they know the secret password.)

Booked for wild and slippery GRM VIP staff parties?
Not staff, Competitors.
I didn't even get invited.
Gorilla suit = instant invite to any event.

I believe you've answered your own question:
"Gorilla Suit Racing -- Yeah, I got your invite right here!"
Team Asylum is working out all the little details on our entry. We still have wiring issues to sort through then maybe we can do some testing to see how everything else will hold up on our Volvo wagon.
I grenaded my passenger motor mount last night. Pretty sweet!
Time to break out the window weld for all of the mounts i guess.
Planning on bringing a Miata down. It'll be light this year. Next year, it will be light and powerful. Doubt that we have the time to get it powerful and non-exploding in time for this year.
Also, I will need time off, not sure on that yet.
Just dragged mine home tonight!!!
Obligatory trailer shot:
Parts under the bonnet:
And parts in the boot:
Dawwwwwwwwww it's so pretty!
I like 914s. Especially when they're good candidates for a Subaru swap.

Two out of three isn't bad. In fact, it could win you a special trophy!

I just noticed you have your gamertag in your signature. If you get an invite from "unev0lved" that's me. Still play MW2?

This makes 3 for this year, if everyone makes it. I have one, and there is a guy in Texas working on one.
CRAP!!! I did the 914 to do something different, never seen one in past coverage, oh well.
What drivetrains is everyone else running? Maybe I'll at least be a little different there.
