My daughter found one for sale. It is a sport supposedly a 6 speed manual hatch. I really don't know much about these cars. I don't know any more about the car. My daughter wants me to go with her late this afternoon to look at it with her.
So I need a short list of things to look at.
Also are there any inherent faults with these cars. Things that you should just plan on repair or replacement of?
Lastly. Book on these is about 5.5k seller is asking 4.5k. Since I don't know the mileage and actual condition of it it may be a fair price or are these one of those cars that because there are so many of them that in order st sell them you have to price them a bit lower?
Did a search and found the car on cl
Was listed yesterday. Daughter was the first caller.
Mazda 3
The rust issues were fixed for that generation.
2010 is some unholy bastard child when it comes to some parts, bits of suspension mostly. Not hard to get or anything, you just can't assume since it's a second gen car that 2011-2013 parts will fit it.
Otherwise I don't think there's much that goes wrong with them. My Speed3 has been trouble free except for issues I've induced.
Excessive front toe maybe, that might be limited to the speeds though. I'd assume that'd be fixed by now however.
If it was mine I would add bars shocks and slightly lower springs and some wheels and tires. My daughter is very much like me. She has an appreciation for having fun with cars.
But I am getting ahead of my self. We have to make sure it is a good reliable car first.
I am however thinking that if she gets it I know what her Christmas presents are going to be.
And that is bad for my daughter how??
I've got a set of MS3 stock springs not sure if you need the lower rear camber arms but I have the stock versions of them too in my garage. You're welcome to them. Less than 25k miles and no rust.

It attracts attention of cops, you know if you are like speeding.

Like I said how is that bad? Especially if it keeps her a little on the slower side.

We will see. She has to purchase it first.

I think the seller listed it using the book price of the i trim, the 2.5 badge on the back leads me to believe it's the S which has a little bit more power at the expensive of fuel economy.
