If only it were RWD it might be a BMW competitor.
I'd rock one! Swap out all the badges for Vauxhall ones...
I imagine there will be as many as 5 or 6 of the manual transmissioned cars available for sale next year.
Actually, this seems to be a pretty decent looking and driving car....thank you, Euro GM. Tho it does sort of remind you of a Cadillac SRX (or whatever their "crossover" is called) only as a sedan with Buick styling cues.
It looks like an LH car and a new Jetta threw up into a bowl. Blech.
I am curious about what the front suspension looks like, now.
I was hoping that would be a G8 with new skin. Instead... it's a Malibu.
Wait a second, that's a Buick. And it actually looks modern and sporty. Does not compute.

I like the looks. However if it ends up being only offerred in FWD I have no interest
Again, GM misses the boat by not offering AWD.
I was actually looking interested in this car as an eventual replacement for my WRX. They are shopping this as an Audi A4 competitor, and without the AWD, that's really not possible. Not even an option!
You know what's gonna happen. They will make it for a few years, it will get rave reviews. No one will buy it due to it being a sporty car in GM's "AARP" division, and since it has a stick, all the Q-Tips that drive Bucks won't be able to drive it. They won't advertise that it exists in any sort of fashion (just like they did with the entire Pontiac division)and sales will suffer. Even so, they will promise that AWD and/or a more powerful version (can you say Grand National with the twin turbo V6?) will come down the line, and then they'll cancel it. That's what they always do. Too bad, as the regular one has is not a bad looking car, and the interior is the best I've seen on a GM product, well... ever! They just keep setting themselves up for failiure.
Hrm... wonder what the curb weight is...

Buick website still shows the future GS as AWD with a 6 speed manual.
It must be wrong, I read somewhere on the web that they killed the AWD version
I like the look, it just needs more powah!
Being FWD doesn't bother me for an appliance.

Quoted for laughability. Its Buick's website; it's Buick's car. "somewhere on the web..." is like saying "a friend of a friend who knows a guy..."
OTOH, it is GM's website, so who knows!?!? Now if it was RWD with the turbo ecotec and a manual... thats a whole new ball game in my book... (I already got my awd (bi-)turbo six speed out of my system.)
I must say that I like the Opel/Vauxhall grille much better. The Buick grille does look much more like a Buick, though.

Damnit, where's that sarcasm font?
I'm impressed by the torque figure there, 295 ft-lb in what looks to be a lighter, smaller, more agile regal. I bet the hp and torque can get an easy bump just like the cobalt, solstice, hhr, etc.
Comes a long way from a 200hp/225tq bloat mobile. (Which even Mom thinks is too slow)
I guess instead of comparing to a wrx this is more along the lines of a fwd speed6 or 2.5gt legacy.
If they want this to sell, they need to come up with another successful import-fighting brand name like they did with Saturn. The next logical choice would be the Uranus UL1.

Except that appears to be a Regal GS with 240 hp and 280 tq. Ran a 14.7 stock.
Even the regular 3.8 would probably give most Naturally Aspirated Miatas a run for their money.

My grandma had the GS. That thing was surprisingly fast. Dad tried to buy it from them when they got a new car, but that ruined Grandpa's excuse for a new car: He thought it was unsafe because it needed too much and wouldn't pass it on to family. If it was safe enough to pass on to family, it was safe enough for Grandma to still drive, and then she didn't need a new car.
Grandpa had gotten tired of looking at it.

Needs more 5 door goodness.
And AWD is a deal breaker.
