Someone buy this, 'cause I can't.
Can you check it out for me, I have wanted one of these for a long time
thats really cool. offer 1600 or so+sell 440 setup+small block chevy or ford=super win.
You do realize that it is original with the Mopar don't you Cory
That would look sooo good as a stablemate for my J-H's. Too bad I just can't do it at this time, dammit. I love the BB Mopar valve covers that say 'Jensen', there's just something cool about that.

meh
still think it'd be cooler with a chebby in it.
but since it is a 440, I could let it slide.
Bite your tongue. A 6.1 Hemi would be just fine in there.
I'm glad it's nowhere near me, and far enough from my family in FL too. An Interceptor is on the "someday" list.
Then I could take a Mopar to the Import Carlisle show!
440's rule. Keep your LS motors in Corvettes and that sort of a Hemi engine in the Challenger it came from
Interceptors are neat. I won an autocross many years ago in my RHD Interceptor-beat all the Jensen Healys! The Interceptor isn't that heavy, the engine is set back and the balance is pretty good. Strip all the heavy interior,HVAC bits out of one and you might be on to something.
It has been a long time since I've seen one of these. Someone needs to snatch this up and start a build thread for me to enjoy.

Hmm... I have relatives in Sarasota..
Did anyone see the Interceptor skit on Top Gear where Clarkson drove a resto-modded version that DID get an LS conversion.
I have requested more pics from the seller.
Sometimes LS1 or Miata is not the answer....

As chance would have it, I am traveling in the UK on business this week. That episode is on now (not BBC) as I write this. Jeremy claims, "Interceptor is the best name for a car...ever." The car he test drives has a LS3 transplant. The skit, a takeoff on 70's detective shows (including the mustaches), is great.
I've always though Interceptor was an excellent name for a motorcycle as well...
I think I'd leave the powertrain alone and just spend time trying to make the car safe and comfortable again. 440 gets the job done, fo sho, although an overdrive transmission would be of interest to me.

You forget yourself man, by adding "bacon" to anything it makes it better, thus the name: Bacon Interceptor must be THE best name for a car...ever.

That episode was fantastic. The restomod Intercepter was awesome, but I think it should've had a Hemi in the spirit of the original.
In reply to aussiesmg:
I really don't think a manual trans matches the spirit of the Interceptor. A good four or five speed automatic would be fine by me.
Bite your tongue, heathen

takes mustache off, places it in a special holder and puts it away in the glove box
