No, our fuel does not have the conaminants. Haven't for a long time. Why people think it does is beyond me. Or think that European fuel is something that much better than ours, since their pumps give you RON data, where ours is RON+MON/2- Regular, premium, and super premium is 91, 95, and 98 RON all over the world. So the 93 stuff you get in the US is the same as the 98 stuff you get in England.
The DIESEL spec recently changed (to less than 30ppm), but the gas has been low sulfur for a long time. At least mid 90's.
and FWIW, EU emissions standards are about 5 years behind US (which is 2-3 years behind California). Europe's "crackdown" is late.
US fuel is fine.
