Heh sorry. I've been sick since sunday actually.
And as you just saw on my text, the black car is probably out.
Remember the best worst beer challenge, must be local and under $6 for 6, Michigan and Ohio are already in.
Team Frankenspit (1974 Triumph Spitfire) on our way. Just passing through Gibsonton (I75 MM 252).
About 3ish hours out. Anyone teams getting together tonight?

chose not to take the time away from the family. i'm headed to Greenville SC tomorrow for the SAE Applied Vehicle Dynamics seminar at BMW Performance Center. i'd love to be at the challenge, just didn't work out this year.

I was wondering if you did, or if you at least had a change of underwear on board.
Care to share the story from the driver's seat?

BTW- I'm not asking to be sensationalistic. I was genuinely concerned, and glad you were OK. It sounds like it could have been bad, but you did an excellent job of maintaining awareness.
The Wreck Racing MG lost traction during the 1-2 shift and spun into the other lane. The MG's right front tire bumped into the black Miata's fender, denting it and bending the MG's tie rod.
SVreX wrote: Mg's right front hit the Miata's right front... so it was backwards, right?
From the booth it was hard to tell if there was contact. The Miata didn't bounce or get knocked off course visibly, so I figured if there was contact, it wasn't too major.
I gotta say, that was an epic left turn by the Ga Tech car. It was hard enough that my first instinct was that it was headed for the wall. I think a combination of quick reaction and Miata cushion saved it.

I was spectating and my brother was driving. His eyes were glued to the tach but luckily saw the MG coming into his lane. He hit the brakes and apparently swerved to the left enough to minimize the damage. The Hoosiers left a "For Competition Use Only" stamp on the bumper. LOL
