So, this is embarrassing as I've worked on my cars for awhile but here it goes:
I was attempting to do a spark plug change on my 2014 GS350, and when moving the wire loom, I popped out 2 wires from a solenoid into the head.
It was a type of connector with 2 rubber holes so I just put them back hoping that would work.
Of course it didn't so now I have a CEL, but my reader is in another location.
so my question is: what does this solenoid do, and can I drive for a short while with it not functioning?
Anyways, thanks in advance for the help!
Oh and I drove it around the block and everything seemed ok, but obviously there's still an issue.
im going to use my scan tool when I get to it tomorrow, but long story- it's 100 miles away.
Exhaust VVT solenoid.
Not sure how much that helps, you still have to repair the wiring.
Correct, VVT solenoid. Lucky for you I've spent my whole weekend digging through 2GR wiring diagrams. The connector is PN 90980-11162. You should be able to buy a pigtail kit to splice in.

You the frickin man, thank you!
Update for anyone who wanted to know how my dumbass fared:
it was a stored code for the camshaft positioner sensor. When I noticed I pulled some wires, (and since they so easily pulled and went back into the electrical connector), I rushed to start the car and forgot to plug the CPS back in. So when I tidied up the code wad stored.
Cleared the codes at autozone in the morning and all was well lol.
At one point I thought that may have been the cause, but I guess I ruled it out in my haste.
Thanks for the help
