Basically: 206hp, 2700lbs, E-LSD with just enough crap to make a good daily, but none of the stupid E36 M3. Bonus: All my suspension bits bolt on this one. All for $22,810.
Where do I sign?
I'd test drive one to compare against the Ford ST twins.
Oh man, that is intriguing...
Make mine Marathon Blue please.
Hyundai is doing good work with this car.
I will take ugly and fast any day over pretty and slow.
It's also economical. 38mpg highway? Jeesh this just keeps gettin' better and betterer.
They only took out things that don't weigh much...

You mean like the Sunroof? I'm sure that is under a pound at the most.
I heartily dislike the blue-and-red superman motif, especially the red seats in the blue car, but otherwise that's a pretty impressive package. I've always like the way these look on the street. Light? Check. Turbo? check. real manual? check.
Man, if that was RWD they might have a world-beater.

Nice. If I was in the market for something like that, it is about perfect

I was gonna say, "Needs more POWAR!", but if it really is around 2700#, this could be interesting.
How come no one (except Nissan) understand the awesomeness of a proper LSD in a FWD?

You can make just about any slow car fast. It's much harder to make an ugly car pretty.
^ Yep. Current Turbo car with the sunroof is 2771lbs. drop the sunroof and power seats and that should put the car solidly under the 2700lb mark.

Meh, I seemed to do alright with the Forte. It's never going to be "pretty", but it can be "aggressive".
It's not a proper LSD (I don't think) it's and eLSD which basically uses brakes to stop the spinning wheel and give power back to the un-spinning wheel. Ford uses the same tech in the ST siblings. It sort of works OK and is probably better than not having it.

I know it's an eLSD (i.e. a traction control that controls both front wheels independently). I haven't driven the latest systems in anger (like in the Ford ST's), but I doubt it compares to a real mechanical LSD. And it makes such a difference.
I drive my B15 Spec-V in stock-G class, and if it wasn't for the HLSD in it, I wouldn't have a chance. That Sentra has one of the crappiest suspension ever, but if I pitch it just right in the turns, I can feel the front end pulling the car out of the turns instead of ploughing straight. It's even more apparent in slower turns. It's the best part of the car, as far as fast driving is concerned.
Now put that awesome HLSD in a FWD with a good suspension and you would have something fantastic. Why is no one doing this???
End rant.
the veloster finally got a manual trans?
The Veloster has always had a manual trans.
In reply to fanfoy:
Monies. If they put a $500 LSD in 10% of the cars they'd have maybe 10% of those owners even know that it was there. So you've spend how much of your potential profit making 1% of your owners happy? And that's being optimistic on all counts.

My mom had a turbo when they first came out. Awesome car, I'd rock the R-Spec

I would still take a fiesta st instead.
The two problems with the Genesis Coupe R spec are the ugly red seats and no cruise control. Looks like these translated to the Veloster R spec.
How much do modern cruise control systems weigh? I can live with the extra couple of pounds so my knee doesn't lock up after a 2 hour trip.
Not sure the 38 mpg will be accurate (I know it wouldn't be for the first few months I was driving one). Didn't Hyundai have a problem with overestimating fuel economy?

I have only seen the auto and I read somewhere it was only availible with the Auto. Guess I was wrong
