4 door = lame. I was hoping this would never happen, but it has. I'm disgusted with the manufacturers over it.
Looks OK, but it's no Grand national.
Like the ATS, Buick's GN will offer the choice of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four (currently rated at 272 horsepower) or a 3.6-liter V-6 that makes 321 horses in the ATS. The wicked GNX, available only in the official shade of evil (black), will be powered by a twin-turbo 3.6-liter V-6 that should be good for 400 horsepower. The transmission roster will include manuals for the turbo engines and automatics across the board. The eight-speed Hydra-Matic due in 2014 should serve nicely here.

Scoop looks like it came out of the JC Whitney catalog...
This looks amazing. I do hate 4 doors and the fact that the big 2door coupe has gone away. But that looks badass.

That does look a bit menacing. Agree that the hood scoop looks like a cheap mail order piece. Something about that grill reminds me of this:
Maybe big scary green clown heads are just the natural evolution of the current trend with overly huge silly grills on new cars?

4-door only, no V8, ugly as sin. Looks like GM is bastardizing another great name from their history.
RWD+400 hp turbo engine+manual? So what if it's a 4-door, I don't get the hate here. Sounds pretty darn good to me.
I'm okay with no V8. Let the Caddy have the big dog V8. Give the Buicks a turbo V6 that'll hang with 'em ala Gran National.
That's still a rough rendering above. I wouldn't draw too many judgements/conclusions on styling.
They managed to not offer a true Audi competitor by making the Regal GS AWD only with automatic, and not bringing the existing turbo V6 awd Opel over. (The 2.0T Regal GS is still a nice car...)
I'll wait to see it as it gets closer to production. More RWD based turbo cars are a good thing.
That makes me at least a little excited about the ATS-V.

it's easy to diss cars that you'll never buy in the first place. That way you can pretend to be interested in it.
But it is fascinating to hate a company who makes a performance car. why, I just can't figure.

I like it. A little over the top, but not bad. If they tone down the hood (and possibly the grill) and it comes in at the right price, it could end up in my garage in a couple of years. Maybe even if they don't tone it down. Not a fan of calling it a GN, but that is just semantics.
EDIT: The one thing I really dislike about it is the air intakes under the headlamps.
A GS/GN is AT THE TOP of my want list....high end performance without the Lambo pricetag...

I'll give you the 4 door thing but you must have your cars confused as to the v8 complaint. Both the GN and GNX were turbo v6.
I like it but would want more than 270hp. 400 plus would be okay.

Funny. That was my favorite detail on it.
All this said, best I could google was the entirety of this concept is a year old Car/Driver clickbait article.
That's like a decade in internet age.
Is there even any hints of confirmation of an Alpha platform derived RWD Buick at all? Let alone a photoshopped GNX?
I like it, but one would think they would have learned their lesson from the new GTO fiasco.
I'm OK without the V8, but the styling is a bit much for me. Front end is too busy.
I like it except for the hood scoop.
You have to remember that this is most likely a "rendering." There is no way this thing will come out and look like that. MAYBE the GNX version but the regular versions will be more Regal GS and less Transformer.
FYI, this is berkeleyING AWESOME!! A GN can have 4 doors, I would actually prefer 5 , as long as it is rear drive/AWD with rear orientation, and MUCHO power. A stick is better than the original. And no V8 is fine too.
The grand national never had a v8.
Hey guys, i'm just here to let those of you who didn't get the memo that the GNX didn't get the V8 from the other 8 people who posted it, that you're probably thinking of the GSX.
The picture in the link looks nothing like the one posted here. Here it is.
Give people caviar and they'll complain that it tastes fishy. Jesus.

In reply to camaroz1985:
I'm actually kinda digging the wheels.....unfortunately, they'll be out of my price range.
I love this thing, yeah, 4 doors is kinda lame, but otherwise thats awesome. Manual tranny, turbo V6 and most importantly its RWD, yeah, this is gonna be a cool car. BTW, the original GNX is one of my dream cars, I was terrified that the new one was gonna be some weaksauce, FWD idiocy, this thing looks badass!!
I'm not a GM hater, quite the opposite in fact. But I don't see anything groundbreaking with this car. I think people that criticize GM often do it because while a new car like this might be a big positive as far as Buick or GM goes, it's nothing new in the market. There were several cars with similar specs being produced a decade ago. Not cheering about that isn't hate, it's just reality.
