If you do that, you also have to gut the interior, and kind of place guages in odd holes, have vents taken apart, and have the HVAC just randomly placed in the center.

Looking at it again, I must say I'm annoyed at something that annoys me about the current body as well....that useless little teeny quarter window behind the b-pillar. Put some real useful glass back there...blind spots suck.

So, if it will have the IRS, I presume this means they are going after the Europeans this time? It was rumored before they would either keep the status quo or go higher tech to compete there.

By moving to IRS, Ford is going after the Europeans AND trying to catch up with Chevy and Dodge, who currently have IRS-equipped pony cars. The 2015s will be the first Mustangs officially sold in Europe, and obviously Ford feels that a SLA isn't refined or modern enough for Europeans.

I think that car would work only if the Taurus didn't already exist. Honestly, I think it could be great; Mustang as poor man's 3 series, this car as poor man's 5 series? At least from a performance perspective, I think it could work.
All the guys who bought the 2005+ "retro" Mustangs are no longer Ford's main target. Those buyers got their retirement toy, now Ford has to capture a new demographic, someone who doesn't have fond memories of the original car. I love the original Mustang design, but it won't carry them into the future. Brave to Ford for moving the name forward.
Slefain - I bought new in '05, but I was born in '76 and am FAR from retirement. I did grow up in the south, though, so idolizing the '68 Cobra was probably natural. We are 25 years behind...
I understand what you're saying, though, the retro look should be over as far as new cars are concerned. It's getting sad. I'm all about an update, more modern, etc, but that blue thing is a steaming pile in the looks department. The red one is better, but it looks a LOT like the Frisbee twins - not all bad, they're pretty good looking cars. I would like to see something modernized but unique. So, like a fully realized unicorn, basically.

Why would they think that the new corporate nose would go on a Mustang is totally beyond me- which version got the 3 bar grill that was the last corporate nose?
I also see some notes from the '93 or so prototypes, perhaps to add some credibility. Yea, not so much.
That's why the guy who drew that works for a magazine and not a car company.

I just hope Ford has the ability to make a car that doesn't look like an Aston. I know it's the new corporate look, but it's soo obvious it's lifted from PAG days. Only the Chinese do it worse.
All that being said, except for the Aston front end, that car looks great to me. I think the 'yote V8 is an amazing engine, though I've yet to experience one. Unless they go FWD, I can't see Ford making a mustang that wont sell in big numbers.

I still love the lines of a notchback Fox. 
The Fox Mustang in sedan format is pretty easy to like, especially that white one. If only it was easy to add Fox Capri box flairs...
Since the current "retro" car was clearly inspired by the 1968-1970 Mustangs, it would only be logical that this would be the next step.....
Oh yeah! Bring on the Mustang Grande'!
