Since when do they "know" it's getting a flat plane crank? Where is the proof that this flat plane crank thing is anything more than the rumors perpetually claiming the S550 would lose ~200 pounds, or that the next Corvette is always going to be mid-engined? All I've seen is a handful of youtube videos that sound suspiciously like a killer cross plane crank V8. Note that not one mass market V8 from any manufacturer, regardless of price, uses a flat-plane V8. This is neither by accident nor coincidence. The simple physics and economics of the situation lean heavily in favor of this being nothing more than low-brow automotive journalism, shamelessly trying to keep the cash cow from this totally unsubstantiated rumor alive for as long as possible. That being said, I certainly wouldn't complain about being wrong on this one either.

Now if they could just shrink the car down to FRS size I would actually want a mustang.

I stopped reading online car magazine articles some time ago and instead have focused exclusively on online car magazine comment and feedback threads... Priceless.

When it comes to hearsay, I'd much rather be proven wrong as a skeptic than right as a "believer".
