Yesterday, Mazda North American Operations welcomed the first shipment of the all-new 2016 MX-5s. They'll begin their port processing procedures and deliveries will follow in the next several weeks. We're getting close to seeing them at our local autocrosses and track days.

Any color you want, as long as it's red! Glad to see them. Would be interesting to watch the unloading/parking operation.

Why. Why did they have to be Red?

Oh well, I'll eventually get one. In a different color. Once they are available and I have money :)

I feel bad for the single guy who apparently ordered white.

When the NAs arrived in America in 1989 as 1990 models, the only colors initially offered were Red, White and Smurf Blue. I think later that year, silver was added too.
About 50% of all first year Miatas were Red.

Those are mostly the LE Launch Edition cars. Mine is unloading now at Jacksonville. Miata.net forums followed the ships across the Pacific with daily location updates. The dealers are pretty much clueless and Mazda hasn't been great about keeping them informed.

They look like they have zinc creme on them to protect them from the sun from being on the boat.
