SBC S10s pop up on the cinci list of craigs from tome to time...hacking and sawing is fun and all, but why not spend that time balancing rotating 8 piston assemblies and making Hockey puck bushings and mounts.
I feel like a chopped unibody is going to flop around fish-out-of-water style all over the autox course. Just my opinion.
That said, hacked unibody, plus copius frame stiffening, could equal serious fun. There was an E30 truck conversion with a "for sale" sign in its window about a half hour from my home a few weeks back...wonder if its still there?

I doubt it will happen, but I'm keeping an eye out for cheap 2wd SWB S10s now. like an 83% chance of nothing happening though because of my other project which I'm putting a higher priority on, but there' a fair bit of time between now and then, so put me down as "Possibly, put probably not"

Me likey this too much to not want to see an entire field of cars like them.
Some inspiration:
I really want to give a crewcab dually the same treatment and run it

My initial thoughts for 2017 are to attend but not campaign my own car.
Keep me in the loop.
I know we could probably use help once there. We're planning on sharing wheels and tires between builds so just the logistics of that are daunting. We'll always have a spot on the team for you but don't let that affect you bringing your own car/truck if you want.

Body dropped tube framed crew cab long bed square body Chevy with box flares? I think there's room to put a 454 where the back seat should be with a TH400.

Keep the engine up front... I still want to tow while hauling a million spares in the bed

I don't think the new location of the trans tunnel will take up /that/ much space. Plus now you have a frunk for even more spares.
Keeping my eyes open for a local, cheap, semi-solid square body S10 for my return to the GRM challenge, but they are hard to come by in Ohio. Saw one on CL for $300 not too far from home, but of course, I'm in Canada this week. And two 5.3LS-engined trucks with bad transmissions turned up, too, one for $1K, and one for 1.2K.
I'd prefer an s10/s15, but full size standard cab short bed trucks are also on my search list, since then I could start with a V8, instead of needing to do an engine swap.

I will sell this one for $400. 4.3 v6 1991. Needs a tranny. No rust florida truck
In reply to pimpm3:
I can't tell from the camera angle. Is that a short or long bed?
I will be in Florida in a little over a month...

Looks like a short bed. Always look at the gas door. The distance changes only between the front and the door visually, the rear stays unchanged from the door to the wheelwell.
