This is now out of embargo as it's appearing in the press. Ford are unveiling the face lifted 2017 S550 Mustang today. If you go to the Ford Facebook site at 2:00pm there will be a video unveiling. The vid was shot in the studio just over a month ago. The guy in the vid while massively impressive is shorter than he looks in the movies.

Golly the Mustang gets better and better looking each time.
I'm curious about what the back end will look like, as that's where the current design falls flat for me. That front end looks promising.
I prefer the 2015-2017 front end, but not enough that it'd make me avoid a 2018+ model in the future.
I like it. I like that color too. If I had $$ for a new car a Mustang would be on the short list.
It's amazing that y'all like it. Everyone I've seen and talked to hates it.
P.S: I like it but didn't want to get burned at the stake by my mustang friends

Dare I say it looks like a 'roid-raging ND? In a good way.

That face looks seriously pissed, like it just found out that Trump got elected.

Couldn't put my finger on it until I read that.
So they dropped the V6. While not at all unexpected, it is certainly disappointing for me. Looks like if we end up going the pony car route for a family convertible, I'll just have to learn to love the styling of the Camaro.
So, what changed? Looks like a Mustang I've seen before.

Don't see much of a change. I like the Mustang but don't understand why Ford doesn't use one of their potent v6's in the car. Might steal some of the v8's thunder?

The Ecoboost 2.3L takes the place of the V6 with the V8 being a very reasonable option, depending on what option pack you go with.

Because only rental fleets and cheap people bought the V6, which the Ecoboost 2.3L fills that void, while the V8 option isn't that much more of a stretch from the old V6.
In reply to jstein77:
I'd say a confident look. Like, Ford keeping more jobs and investments in America kind of confidence. Or maybe even a "America is back" kinda swagger.

The 2.3 is not as good as their turbo v6's. Rental fleets bought the v6 because Ford made it the cheapie. The 2.3 should be the cheapie with a performance v6 next up just like the Camaro.

IIRC, that was by Ford's design. The V6 was their budget version, and had a very limited set of options compared to the 4 or 8.
Those turn signals are needlessly large.
You'll have to post a side by side picture for me to be able to see the differences. Looks like every other one I see on the road today to me.
Far be it from me to correct a Ford employee, but I believe that's the 2018 Mustang, not the 2017.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

I think the new front end is sleeker and more aggressive.
