We had flames, engine is not starting. Fuel pump is dead and we don't have another, car has spark but will not fire on starting fluid for indeterminate reason. We're calling it a night for now. 
Edit- got it to fire again by dumping fuel in because we didn't really want to give up yet. Planning on fuel pump.
Lol. In this case, actual fire may have been the better bet.

If you guys need a walbro I have one. Note it's an in tank and I have no pickup filter for the bottom.
SVReX knows where I live (10 min from hotel). If you are out of time to drop the tank you might be able to get an f150 pump from the 90s and put it in line.

The plan is to test the fuel system using the walbro in a can to see if it's worth doing the pump on the car:

Waiting for fuel lines at the moment.
Fuel lines attached, still not firing- occasionally pops. Diagnosing.
Timing?
I see the MAF in the trunk, it's obviously isn't seeing the air going into the engine but does it have something holding the flap open so it thinks it's seeing air?

no, I think pimpm3's (now dusterdb13's) pickup did it last year at some point
edit: although, it's interesting that it's a "saab pickup" doing the towing this year
