Confirmed, but... Red pickup (PLB) towed the Free Probe via tow dolly from Jax to Gainesville. However once the Red Truck was lowered (nee: butchered) it could no longer tow the Probe from the hotel to the track due to bottom out issues on the truck. Seth then towed the non-street legal Probe to the track. However, I did a bad job of securing th Probe to the dolly which required a roadside stop since the Probe was then held on by one wheel to the dolly.
There was great concern on how to get the Free Probe back to Jax since the way it arrived could no longer be the way it returned. But, as luck would have it, the issue became moot. On Judging Day, the Probe was sold to a local buyer and therefore never needed to return to Jax.
So, the Pre- challenge Pickup could tow the Probe but the actual challenge pickup could not. This makes the Saab (in race trim) a more capable vehicle than the butchered pickup. This does make the Sabb the first Challenge capable car to tow another Challenge car.
Good luck getting the critical issues figured out! Very impressive work.
Here I am, well rested, sitting in my office with a fairly light Friday work day ahead of me and a nice relaxing weekend planned wishing I was in Florida helping a group of overtired folks figure out how to get a cobbled together old car running in time to compete tomorrow.
What the heck is wrong with me?
Good luck and have fun.
so, wait... which car gets the time?
edit: now that *is* challenge history
the Saab has a 53sec time recorded... so, I think that's on it's own... dunno if that makes the 118sec run more/less impressive

So was there someone in the Mr.Dos to steer and reduce drag?
I think that's an experiment we need done, you know... for science

...That's not...you can't...they don't...towing... sigh............. :-D
That is awesome, but might have been even faster if you pulled the engine back out!
Sorry it did not run under it's own power, but all of you certainly put in all you could do to try to make it happen and I applaud your efforts.
So a lesson to learn- before you take it all apart, make sure it runs, Or that you are 100% that you know why it didn't.

The engine runs. But it is really hard to do that with a wiring harness for a different car.

There might still be a few issues to sort...
the reverse accelerator pedal seems to be high on the list. Lift off the pedal for WOT, push to the floor to decelerate...
