The big news with the 2019 GMC Sierra is its refresh. Boxes are in, and here’s your proof. The other story is the new AT4 package.

What’s the AT4 package include? We’re glad you asked.

From GMC:

  • Standard 2-inch factory-installed suspension lift.
  • Standard 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential and skid plates.
  • Standard off-road-tuned Rancho monotube shock absorbers. …

Front end looks SO much better than the horrendous Chevy version

It's a LOT less ugly than the Chevy variant.

What in the Harley Earl are "athletic interior trim elements"?  Does this have anything to do with how they made the interior 2" farther away, i.e. harder to get into?

This is what I think of when someone says AT4:

Good catch. Somehow I'm reminded of a jock strap.

"Bigger than big!" "Larger than large!"  "The new trucks from EVERYONE!" "So big it will not fit in ONE picture frame!"

In real life it's good looking! Is the bad Chevy styling a strategy to upsell people to GMCs? Because it might be working.

Talk to me about the rear camera mirror. Is this a mirror that is really a screen that makes it look like there are no c-pillars and blind spots that I can use when driving?

In reply to mazdeuce - Seth :

If it's like the other GM rear camera mirrors I've seen, then that's exactly what it is. The other one I saw had the option to switch back to a traditional mirror too

I saw one of the otherwise stock Chevys on the way in to work today with a horrendous black roll bar over the front of the bed, it looked so out of place (and I can only imagine what the poor guy paid for it). It is apparently a $1,300 option on the Colorado ZR2...

I'll ask David.

Yes, it's available with GM’s relatively new Rear Camera Mirror. It's trippy at first–especially when you use it to check for a wayward nostril hair.

I did see a 4x4 Chevrolet that might have had the factory lift and it looked like a 4x4?  Not sure.

My ‘16 Silverado 4x4 looks like a 4x2.

I see that GM has loosened up availabilty of the big stove. Now you don't have to jump to the highest trim level to get the 6.2L, its now available in the stripper Work Truck trim, because, surprise, guys who are using their trucks to do actual truck things might need power too. I wonder which enterprising individuals will order a stripper single cab, short bed with the 6.2L as a factory muscle truck.

In reply to NickD :

I just tried to build one on their configurator as I was curious but only saw the 6.2L available on the LTZ and High Country trims (and crew cabs at that).

I was shocked to see the 4.3 V6 is still alive and well.

Well, it's 4.3L V6, not the 4.3L V6 of yore. More closely related to the Gen V series of engines. Direct-injected, active-fuel management, variable valve timing. Still rougher than a cob. When they go into V4 mode, they will rattle the teeth right out of your skull. When we started selling them, we had customers coming back thinking there was something seriously wrong with the engine. Nope, that's just how they are when AFM kicks in.
