well...sort of. Ford showed off the race version yesterday. It will be running the Baja next year. Full race, but the best look at the body so far.

I think it looks like the Flex, but that might be because of the width added by the massive flairs and the height lost to cutting the lower body for clearance. Interesting to see details like grill, roofline and the rear light placement, you can kind of draw out what the street car will look like. I think it's gonna be pretty cool.
Also, it's IFS and this one has the 2.7 EB, which would stomp in the street version but I doubt we see until there's a Raptor type SE.
The more I look at it, the more things I see. If you look at the grill bar you can see where the width of the street version will probably be, the end brackets are there. Also, I'm seeing a lot of old Scout in the lines too.
Oh wow, I like it. Bout dang time we got a look at *something*, the rumors and teasers have been swirling for way too long and I was getting impatient.
I really, really like this.
Like, A LOT.
I would love one of these in street trim, in a 2-door, with a 2.3L Ecoboost with a 6-speed manual, and not much else. Please do it, Ford!
*Snarky opinion about Ford since their 3.7L Duratec engine's water pump was timing driven and I had one fail under 70k*
There is some patent documentation ona 7-speed manual being done by Getrag, likely for this truck. Although rumor keeps connecting it to a diesel option...
And the 2.3L is likely a lock since the basic frame architecture is Ranger. 2 door and 4door variants likely from what I here....
All of which means your dream might be a reality.
2069, the year in which they'll actually release it for sale to the public.
I also want one.
This is a Class 2 trophy truck, I don't know how many similarities there will be in the end when comparing a custom one off tube chassis truck vs what factory production will look like.

To me I see a lot of old bronco lines. Not that there is anything wrong with that, and it probably makes Ford fanboy's pants tight, but I am doubting that Ford, who has taken forever to launch any sort of actual reveal would do so without any fanfare on a full tube frame race vehicle.

You've got to squint to see it, but the overall look and shape of the production version is there, hiding amongst the huge flares, stretched lines, and paint patterns. We've known for a long time there will be a four door version, that's the shape we see in the racer body, just without the door outlines. The front fenders are very close to the productions, just a little....swollen. The grill bar, tailights, and windshield/roofline are what will be on the street version.
The 2.7L is a given, hopefully the 3.5L, but if not, there will be aftermarket jumping in almost immediately to swap it in, plus SAS (Solid Axle Swaps) available to slide Dana 44's from Currie and others under the front end. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Coyote shoved in a few very soon.
The aftermarket for EB's is already huge, it's going to explode for the 2020. Think of all the JK/JL Wranglers. Ruicons, and Gladiators out there with $$$$$ of aftermarket parts (lifts, tires, wheels, etc), then double or triple it - that's what the scene will be in just a few months.
I'm waiting to see if a 2 door can be had with the 2.7L/stick for under $30K. Wishful thinking probably, but I can dream.
I don't think you'll see the 2.7 as the base engine, possibly only on some special halo level trim. I think you'll see the 2.3. I'd love to be wrong, I think it's a great application for the little 6. The 3.5 is too much of the wrong thing, but I agree an aftermarket 5.0 swap will be done. It will be hard, expensive, and offer no real benefit over the 2.7, except that it sounds great and a V8 Bronco is a thing that Should Exist.
