Thanks to the virus, it was postponed until 8/28- and qualifying is this weekend.
So far, Andretti Motorsports is doing quite well- with 4 drivers in the top 9, and one more in 10th. But those 4 get to go for pole tomorrow.
The weird part is that Marco Andretti is actually being competitive- and he's sucked this season.
Speeds are pretty fast- the top of the field is pretty clear of 230mph.
Ok, I don't like these rules.
If you go and try to requalify, and slow down, your faster time still stands. That sucks. It should be that if you go back out, then your previous time is erased- like it used to be. Now it means that cars already in the fast 9 (to go for pole tomorrow) can go out whenever they want with no risk to losing their times, and cars that want to move up can't even get back out to try again.
Two teams blocked some Penske cars to attempt again. And a few other cars.
Not that I'm a fan of Penske, but seeing cars not being able to improve because cars went out to waste time sucks.

I liked the old qualifying rule better. But this year everyone is in since only 33 entered.
The speeds are really up close to no man's land. One on hand that's very cool, on the other there are walls.
Honda's seem extra speedy so far. I wonder whether they will prove durable enough?

Marco has sucked for most of his career. Nothing against the guy, but if he had a different last name, he'd have been out on his ass many years ago.
Everyone said with the weird 2020 year we are enjoying Marco will win and break the Andretti curse and nobody will be there to see it happen adding more weirdness to our lives.
I really didn't like guys in the fast nine "running out the clock". There were other cars in line that, if not able to get to the fast nine, could still have improved their position.

To be fair, he's run ok at Indy. Other races, not so much.

If he wins, he'll end up the opposite of his grandfather.

On pole! If he wins I will eat my hat, but still fun to see him suddenly get fast.

Not yet- they go into final qualifying this afternoon- where the top 9 is set.
edit- that's actually wrong- what is showing on NBCSN this afternoon is NOT live. huh, So he is on pole.
Well done, Marco.
Marco brought it today. Great to see. Again, I have nothing against the guy, and all the other drivers talk about what a great guy he is. Honestly, I think he has the talent, what he lacks is the killer instinct, that thing that makes anything less than a win unacceptable.
But the talent is there. His drive in mixed conditions in Detroit last year was something to see:
