I'm first on the waiting list for one at a local Acura dealer. I'm just hoping there is a decent color combo available. White interiors are a no-no for me and the baby poop pearl just doesn't do it for me. The current exterior/interior combos on the integra are meh.
Wow! I'm guessing the price is $48,995.
I have $25,000 cash + equity in my Chevrolet Silverado. There are 1-2 new cars out there that would foolishly push me into borrowing $30,000 to pay for it.

Interesting. Base mustang has similar specs, is RWD but 300-400lbs heavier. But also half the price.
Should we read into the fact that they didn't call this an ITR?

I'm not sure. The only reason I think they haven't at this point is to help separate it from the Civic Type R, and Type S seems to be the top rung on the Acura ladder–at least for now.
(I can't totally explain it, but an MDX Type S sounds more on-brand than an MDX Type R.)

ITRs have (at least in the US) always been limited edition cars, and I don't get the impression that that's the intent with this car.
In reply to codrus (Forum Supporter) :
Good point.
A little more weight. A little more power. A little more fancy. A little more expensive. I think I like the Type R better aesthetically but that's arguable.
If i decide not to do a Caterham 420R (Current first choice for track toy) it's a toss up between the Civic and the Integra, though leaning towards CTR.

I was more curious about whether there's room for an ITR. The type S is basically a CTR in a performance tophat. How much more R can they make an ITR when this is already a little more R than the CTR?

IIRC the Integra Type R left the power alone but deleted some creature comforts in favor of lower weight, moving somewhat into the "race car on the street" territory. Less insulation, radio delete, AC delete, things like that. Presumably they could apply the same formula to this one, although I have no idea if anyone would buy it. It'd probably be $80K MSRP as well.

The original ITR did have significant power train changes over the GSR (only the block and crank were really the same) along with chassis differences, stiffer suspension, larger brakes and hubs, different interior, and yes, less content for lighter weight like no sunroof or rear wiper, less sound deadening.
Put my name down at 2 local dealer. Tiger Eye Pearl and a White. Whichever comes first.

That seems like an odd comparison. One is an incredibly porky "muscle car" that eskews the muscle part of the equation with tiny backseats. The other is something that would seem to have CTR performance in a bit more "grown up" sedan.
If I had kids and didn't have room/money for play car, I could see this being a really nice vehicle.

Criteria I was using: 6 speed manual, turbo 4 cylinder, 300hp+
Whittles the candidates down pretty quickly. I'm probably missing a few, but the only ones I could think of:
CTR
Integra Type S
Focus RS
Mustang (4 cylinder)
In reply to calteg :
Good point, although I wouldn't include the RS since it's not available new and the other 3 are.
3 weeks ago we bought my wife a regular Integra A-spec tech package with the 6spd manual. The type s would have been way above what I was comfortable spending, heck the one we bought is way more than I wanted to spend. But I have to say it is a really nice place to sit. Seats, steering, and the features are all really comfortable and easy to use. I've only driven the car twice at short distances but I really like it. I think an extra 120hp would get me in a lot of trouble. As it sits the 200hp and sport mode is enough for me. We do only have 400 miles on the car so take my opinion with that in mind.
Oh, her's is that blue color that is posted above.
I'm liking the white one with a black interior. I dig this one but I agree a $50-$55 car isn't realistic for me although I admitted I'd borrow the money.
I'm 60 YO and I'm hoping to buy this as my last car on my sales work car plan and be Grandpa. Save it as an extra car.

Camaro
718 Boxster/Cayman Base/S/T

Mini JCW GP (2021 only though)
The price point is going to be interesting. The TLX Type-S MSRP is right around $55k and the CTR is right under $44k. You would think they wouldn't want the price to encroach on their flagship sedan, unless the ITS is going to now be that.
