Honestly this is a pretty enticing car.  The 1g has been on my watchlist for a second car should I ever go the toy car route again.  This is even better.

Concerns:

1) its still has a subaru engine, only this is unproven.

That's it really.  Its got a real AP2 hardtop vibe from the specs.  I only wish these could work as a primary car.

Oh, you need a usable back seat for kiddos don't you?

Yup.  Kid.  + dog sometimes, but I could make the front work.  He doest fit very nicely in the hatch of my Veloster though.

I would like to have a little more cargo practicality, but I could probably work around that.

I'm heavily considering this as well. Numbers look really good. Looks have some good angles and some questionable, but I think with a slightly lower suspension and a set of wheels that would change dramatically. I feel like the stock BRZ/FRS/86 etc. all look kinda weird with the stock wheels, so not much has changed in that department. Wonder if they are sticking with the 5x100 wheel pattern and offset of the first Gen?

Yeah, other than engine, exterior/interior styling, from what I understand everything else is the same.

So as long as the wheel wells still fit the same size wheel/tires as before, all the previous suspension, brakes, wheels, etc, should all bolt right on.

Which is awesome, because I think it will look fantastic lowered over a set of TWS T-66F wheels.

Hope all of that is true. I'll gladly keep my wheels and suspension goodies to swap over.

I think at this point the only thing that will sway me from not getting one is if the specs/looks on the next-gen STi are just bonkers.

But even then, that will likely mean spending $15k more upfront, so I don't know if I'll be willing to do that.
