S13/KA24DE 240SX - Replacing entire wiring system including relays/fuse panel. Megasquirt, master shutoff switch, hardwired starter switch circuit, etc. This is pure racecar.
The issue: There's a "charge light" circuit included in the factory rat's nest that provides a diode linked path to ground in the factory system, basically turns on the idiot light (which I won't have) when the alternator fails. It may (or may not) also be part of the actual charging circuit, and I can't interpret the wiring schematic well enough to decide if I need it at all, or can reterminate, or hopefully just leave it out completely.

Anyone wired one of these recently?
I wired it to a marker lite sitting in the frame rail. You need it to excite the charging system.
Best thing is to get rid of the harness and build your own anyway.
I can't make much of that diagram, but usually you have the big charge wire, one "sense" wire that runs to the battery pos (or just jumper to the charge post) and the "field" wire that should run though a lightbulb to a key on power source. Some are "self exciting" and only use the field wire to indicate that it's not charging.
Hate to bump and old thread but cant send PM's for some reason... OP.. did you find a fix for this? I am having the same issue, Tried to wire it to a bulb, resistor, relay etc. All with no luck. Only way to get the batter to charge is wiring it to itself, which then causes an over charged battery. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
