Anyone know of any reliable links to streaming coverage of the Nurburgring 24 Hours?

With all apologies to the races we sponsor, that's seriously the coolest race I've ever been to. It's like the 24 Hours of Daytona, but they also invite a bunch of ALMS cars, and World Challenge cars, and Contiental Challenge cars, and NASA cars, and PCA, and BMW CCA, and anyone else who wants to run.

Very cool seeing privateer E36s sharing the track with factory GT3 cars.

The traffic at the start was INSANE. That many cars, in the rain, going down into turn one of the GP course, and no real contact. Amazing.

I see a lime green E36 dicing it up with a lime green Viper!

In reply to JG Pasterjak: You know... If y'all wanted to sponsor a Spec Miata and run in next years race, I know somebody who would let you do that...

There is a new MINI running. Looks like a convertible with a targa top!

Also, what looks like a Nissan Versa (or Renault?) plus a Festiva. Alongside Ferraris, GT3s, an Aston-Martin and that cool Mercedes SLS/AMG works team. Great stuff!

Thanks for the link! I guess I'll be mowing the lawn tomorrow Tons of traffic and loads of carnage! Great racing, at least from a spectator's perspective.

What's with the blue flashing light in the front window? For passing?

In reply to fifty: I believe the flashing blue lights are in the windows of the fastest class of cars. Easier for the lesser classes to tell who's coming up on them.

All the cars carry the strobes. They flash when you're in the top 3 (I think, might have been top 5) in your class. It lets traffic know that a position battle is approaching and not just a fast backmarker.

VW stylin', VW powah!

I thought the factory VW Golf was stock - turns out it's a monocoque chassis, AWD with ~500HP. Commentary from my buddy Nelson.

Nelson Ireson said: Based on the Golf but packing 440 horsepower, a six-speed sequential transmission, and all-wheel drive, the new Golf24 is ready to run through the gates of the Green Hell. The ADAC 24h Rennen Nürburgring takes place on the 23-26 of June, 2011

Looks like our pal Patrick Long just moved into the lead. Love to see him score a victory at this event.

I've been watching via the excellent "tv.audi.de/#/01" link given above.

But I have the sound muted and I'm listening to sound via the Radio LeMans website.

All those people just milling around the pits... saw a gaggle of them almost get mowed down just a second ago! Now time to sort through for a non pit-cam feed.

Yeah, where are the non-pit feeds? Are they missing because it's night there?

thanks guys, finally home from a 12 hour day of hell at work and the gym looking forward to watching this, the grand-am race, and the nascar nationwide race at road america!

--Why work was hell, replaced the rear struts on a 03 Stratus about two months ago. The strut mounting plate bolts snapped off each side (cheap carquest replacements), our parts department warranties the same part out and as I'm threading the nuts on, I had one bolt break off each side while I'm simply threading the nuts on! Finally get an OEM replacement from a local chrysler store and as I'm pressing the new strut mounting plates on the upper strut mount bushings crumble on each side! I almost unloaded a whole clip of .45 on this car.

Leave it to the German coverage to start playing Love is a Battle Field during the race. Ok so it's 4:30 AM there but still...

Anybody else see Sabine drinking a beer right after getting out of the car after the finish?
