Just received my copy of this issue, and went straight to this article. I was quite pleased to find that all four of the cars that my wife and I own are in the top 3 of the Best 25 cars ever, lol. Miata, 2 E30's, and a CRX Si.
I have, also, owned a total of 5 of the top 25. How many have you owned? Has to be someone out there that have owned a good chunk of these cars at some point.
I guess the question is now, if I sell #1 to get #16, in the next few years, is that a step backwards?
Aww, shipping to Iraq takes forever!!! I can't wait to get this, my wife just sent mine... Although I'm pleased to know that my Miata and E30 are at the top
my camaro and e-30 made it. gotta say, as much as i love the camaro i didnt see that coming!
I really need to find a news stand tonight and get a copy. Ugh.
Heh, I was flat shocked that the Mustang was as high on the list as it was. Maybe I really should look into an S197
Congratulations and thank you to GRM for having the guts to RANK all twenty-five. A simple list (no ranking) would not have been nearly as informative or interesting.
I'm still reading! But so far I've owned three.

Where in Iraq are you? Or have we discussed this before? I can't remember E36 M3. I'm down south, COB Adder.
Yes, Rev, you SHOULD look into an S197!!

I don't know- it was a pretty general listing: the BMW 3 series? Come on man, they are very different. It's almost as if we got a listing of 25 sports cars. Oh, Camaro's/Corvettes/Mustangs/3 Series/911? Good, there's 40+ years to choose from with 4 of those 5, all different cars again. Great, but not really a take-no-prisoners ranking.
Love the mag and the writers, but this wasn't much of a surprise, or terribly enlightening. I expected better.

Well, I already have 3 5.0s (one runner, two parts cars, and for some reason utterly unknown to me, all 3 are 'verts), and a b-port Cobra.
The wife isn't going to look very kindly on me picking up a 4th Mustang, hahaha.
If the '11 sixxer really is the ~300hp 3.7L like the rumors say (and I can get it with a factory LSD), that might be a tipping point, though.

How many of the top 25 were in Saddam's stash?
BTW Happy Thanksgiving and thank you.

I think it was better that it was general. The vast majority of cars (at least the top several) are ones with a long production cycle that continue to be produced and evolve. It's hard to say which 3-Series is "best". If you've got the money probably a brand new M3. But maybe you want an E30 325i to turn into a Spec Racer.
Part of the glory is that most of those cars, you can find the right one for you based on your money and interests.
