So a couple of days ago I notice the MPV is making what sounds like tire noise. I drive it this morning and it sounds a bit louder. Just about a year ago I had the same problem and it was a broken tire belt. Well I checked the new tire and it has broken belt too.

Big cluebird time, two broken tire belts. Must be something funky with the suspension. Nothing feels obvious, no clunking or anything like that. Handling seems fine. Shocks have 120K on them but don't seem overly worn (I know shocks should be changed more often then I normally change them).

Thoughts? Anyone else ever have a similar problem?

Thanks.

Same brand and type of tire? That's where I'd look first

Nope, one was a Kumho all season, the other a Hankook snow. Tires on each side are matched.

Are there other people driving it?

I want to guess it's the right rear tire.

Things like curbs will play hell on tires and cause the internals to delaminate if impact(s) are strong or often.

Toe problem? Edges feathered?

I'm the only driver and it's the left rear (mentioned in title, should have made that clear in the post). The tire appears to be wearing normally, but I should definitely check the toe. Maybe just a coincidence?
