Being built under indirect license from morgan, you can now go out and buy one of these: http://cycle-car.com/index.htm Or, you can wait a while as Morgan gears up for a limited run of three-wheelers of its own. What's old is new again....

why do I find this just as tempting as a regular locost/7 clone?

Because it is just so unique?

And because you'll never be ashamed of the one-wheel-peel ever again?

Me too. So whaddaya think: locost/miata front suspension, shaft drive motorcycle engine up front with driveshaft extended back to the bike's swing arm. Bodywork wouldn't enen bee too hateful if you mimicked the barrel-back Morgan....

God help I don't need another project...

Goldwing Flat6 up front. That would be neat. Especially boosted.

You even get reverse that way.

The web site says it has an automotive transmission with reverse.

I've long been intrigued with the GW flat 6 - 1800cc, 118hp, lots of torque (kind of a mini-Porsche).

I'd find an old formula vee chassis, add locost-style front suspension, and autox despite the fact that there is no class for such a beast.

I think I found my "locost" it is just too cool not to build

What intrigues me is getting the car tranny on the Harley motor. There's some guys trying to do that on a Hayabusa, but they haven't yet got the kinks out it seems. Anyone have info on a succesful atempt and if a kit for such a thing is available?

I understand what makes it different is a H-D engine is divorced from the transmission, unlike most (all?) other bike motors. Ever notice the huge exposed belt on some bikes?

I've been dreaming up ideas for a GW motor for ages (or since I first saw the Berzerkly project). Apparently, used ones with the reverse trans don't come up for sale often and aren't cheap.

I was thinking GW powered Locost at one point, but you're right, used ones are NOT cheap.

Does anyone have a accurate weight of the goldwing motor? The only info I have been able to find was from an episode of "How its made" that was showing the assembly line and it said the motor itself was over 250lbs.

I too coveted it as the perfect swap for my rear engined car but that number sent me back looking for G13B's.
