the best I can find up in Canada is $1900 to much but would be a fast swap I think the sr is about 150 lbs lighter and can make good hp but not to be

back to the build as it is I have been told you cannot get below the preset boost level on the factory waist gates with a boost controller the factory setting is about 9 psi well into a area I don't want to hit, can any one confirm or deny this?
I think the primary reason most people break turbocharged n/a motors is because the leave the stock ring gap in them. The 2nd most common reason would be they let them experience detonation.
I dont know anything about the 300zx motor specifically, but the 3000gt situation is probably analogous. The n/a 10:1 version of the 3.0 dohc v6 from the 3000gt is known to be good to around 600hp if you're 'doing it right'.
I own a dodge caravan with a turbo'd n/a bottom end and while you will find people saying it will blow up at 7psi or silly things like that, mine has survived 20 psi.
Open the plug gaps, use conservative timing in boost until you build a sweet knock-listening setup, and have fun. 
This motor seems to be solid so I am not tearing it down will start with about 10deg advance good fuel and meth injection

Seems cheap but it's there
Don't forget the manifolds, oil pan, oil tree, oil cooler, injectors, radiator, all the hot and cold air pipes, ecu. probably gonna want the larger turbo flywheel and clutch ... remembering just how much I hate that engine.
