Anyone know the bolt pattern of a Mazda 323 GTX (1988)?
Any other cars with similar?
Thanks!
Anyway, there are lots of 4x4.5" wheels out there including various Accords, some Toyotas (AE86 Yo!) and a lot of Hyundai Kia type cars.
Using Ford Aspire front hubs on all four corners of the GTX, one can convert to 4x100 ;). A few hours of junkyard picking and poking yielded this. I think I spent overall about $100 on the reconfig.
You'll lose the captive rotors and can use larger brake hardware in the front. Furthermore, it'll give you a good excuse to install new bearings.
Cool! I knew you could retrofit AWD Protege spindles, but I hadn't heard about the Aspire parts. What does it do to the geometry?
You maintain the GTX knuckles, just swap in the press out the GTX hub and press in the Aspire's. The geometry remains the same.
(Mis-used the word "spindle" previously. doh!)
Furthemore, I used 1st gen Protege rotors and calipers in the front (direct bolt on), and Miata rotors with a spacer behind the GTX caliper in the rear.
A few pics here.
