Is there any real reason not to run a Weber 32/36 on a Toyota 4AGE? I'm considering doing this on the 4AGE that is going into my Starlet. I already have the 32/36 and I can get a manifold that will work for cheap. Add a fuel pump and use the Starlet's vacuum advance dizzy and I should be set, no?
The 32/36 I am considering using is currently on the Starlet's 1.3L 4K...I'd have to change the jets to suit the twin cam 1.6L...

Would it really be an improvement over the stock fuel injection? Wouldn't you just be choking the engine, with the carburettor from a 1.3 4K...
OTOH, I've seen several 4AGEs successfully running dual 40/45mm Weber DCOE carbs, (with power gains.)
I don't see why not. You'd be better off with the OEM EFI stuff or megasquirting it, but if you want simple, I guess it would work. A stock 16v large port does like 112 HP or so and a 32/36 with proper jetting should be able to handle that. They work well on 22R's which do over 112HP. How are you going to control the TVIS?
I have a set of 40 DHLA's on the shelf that I was going to use on my 20v, but I went with the OEM EFI instead. They'll go on some other project.
Seems like it should work well enough. Shoot, I'd dig it in a Starlet. Damn I want a Starlet.
The idea is to get the 4AGE in and running as cheaply as possible for this stage of the game. Down the road, a full conversion to EFI using MS might be in order, or a set of sidedraft Webers...
For the TVIS plate--I'll just gut it and plug it.
