OK, so I got a shiny 4 barrel weber as a freebie with other stuff I bought. Problem is, I can't figure out anything about it. Looks like an Edelbrock or Carter. There is a number stamped in the same place as the Edelbrocks, and it reads 1034. There is also a number 8867 stamped on the top. Any idea guys?

Weber made the carburetors for Edelbrock. So, it's most likely an Edelbrock.

BTW - Opened up a new Edelbrock carb the other week and noticed that it has the Magneti Marelli logo cast into it. Cooooool.

That's what I was thinking, but don't all the edelbrock numbers start with 14XX?

BTW-that means you need to pull the Edelbrock tag off of it

Sure it's not one of the rare Autolite inline 4bbls? If so, OH Boy...especially if it's "shiny new"!

Uhhh..

Not if it resembles a Carter or Edelbrock.

OK, I sort of figured it out. The numbers I found are the numbers that normally follow the part no. Well for whatever frickin reason, the number has been ground off. So is there any other way I can figure out what cfm this carb is?

Are there numbers stamped, not cast, on the base? That would be the aluminum colored area on the bottom of the carb pictured.

Does it look something like this?

If so, look for a number stamped in the left front mounting ear. If there's no number, I'll see if I can find a listing for the butterfly diameter for each carb.

The picture is of the Performer line. This is the AFB design. The Thunder series uses a black finish on the hardware instead of the golden cadmium finish. The Thunder series is an AVS design. The air door control on the secondaries is the main difference.

OK, here we go, this is the carb. There are pics of the left front mounting ear, where part of the number has been ground off. Also the numbers stamped on the bottom side.
