About a year ago I had a shop put a new exhaust manifold on it and do the rusty trans filler tube while they were there. After that, I noticed an intermittent ATF leak. I first noticed it when I pulled into a parking spot at work one day and there was an arc of ATF on the pavement. I crawled under and noticed it was wet at the inspection plug on the bellhousing. I figured when they did the filler tube they might have had to pull the pan and they might have put a wee bit too much in and it was puking out the vent (which I think is in there). It happened a few more times and then quit (giving more credence to my initial theory)
The fun part is, if I follow the trail of fluid, it only extends back as far as the turn into the parking spot. It only seems to dump fluid when turning sharply. I can't seem to find any reason for it; like there aren't any holes just left or right of the inspection plug that would dump fluid while turning.
The other fun part is, it seemed to quit this behavior for 6 months and then it just did it again yesterday and today which makes me think it might have something to do with ambient temperatures.
So far it hasn't been enough to show up on a dipstick. I haven't had to add fluid. No other visible leaks, just the wetness around the plug in the bellhousing.
Ideas?
