Anybody got a piece, or two pieces for the Mustang Challenge car, roughly 60" x 30" total. I can join it in the center if you have smaller pieces.

Thanks guys

SCCA requires 6mm so you can make do with 1/4" if that helps you save some money.

Couldn't you just use some of the diamond-plate you have left after doing the interior?

With that car, all you really need to be able to see out of are the door windows anyway.

FWIW I bought some 3mm(1/8") Lexan at a local glass place a couple of years ago for side and rear windows, and it was almost $9 a square foot. I noticed HD and Lowes now has it cheaper, but Lexan is still crazy expensive for what it is.

Just checked the basement. Nothing big/thick enough. Check Piedmont Plastics. If you have a tax ID, I don't think they have minimums; or I'll order you a sheet @ cost. Get creative if you call. Ask them if they have scraps/scratch & dent. Better yet, just show up & tell them what it's for. You might score a free piece. For real. LMK if I can help, brutha!!!

Also 1/4" is RIDICULOUSLY berkeleying thick, heavy, and hard to work with. Like, I seriously doubt it's lighter than stock, and you'll spend a bunch of time getting it to not look retarded. Is the rustang a hatch? I got BIG weight savings on the '04 CRX building an entire hatch out of 1/8". Started to replace the rear glass on the turd with 1/8", but the miniscule weight savings wasn't worth the time/effort.

1/4" is CRAZY thick, unless you want me to do ballistics testing while you drive.

The only legit reason to use 1/4" on the windshield is if you don't want to use windshield braces. That's about the lowest thickness that won't bow in at ~200kph.

PS: Don't get Loctite on it.

1/4" is SCCA legal though and I want to do some track days in it.

I agree, the rest of the car got 3/16" and it is plenty thick enough.

The Mustang is a notch, but I already have that cut out of the 3/16"
